The Outreach Cell, along with the SnT council, conducts a Legacy Hunt every year. It’s an online cryptic puzzles competition aimed to let students know about our esteemed alums. In Legacy Hunt, we have to find the alum based on some very eccentric and cunningly created clues. The questions are based on the work, achievements, and lives of some of our distinguished and well-known alumni. Open challenge to all to solve them!!!

Legacy Weekend is Outreach Cell’s flagship event organized annually. In Legacy Weekend, students and alumni come together for a weekend to celebrate the IITK Legacy of which they are a part. Legacy Weekend commences with the launch of the Alumni Buddy Program and consists of several competitions and student-alumni interaction sessions. Its main aim is to strengthen alumni-student bonding.

A series of talks by prominent alumni of IIT Kanpur pioneering in their respective fields where students have a wonderful opportunity to have one-on-one interactions with them and gain further insights into various career paths.

One of the most memorable days of a student's life, the convocation day is incomplete without good planning and arrangements tucked in place. The Outreach Cell ensures that the students revisit their best college experiences with fun photo booths and memory walls. The graduating batch of students is given a final token of goodbye and best wishes in the form of their own fond memories. This year, Outreach Cell tried to revive their college life through ‘Batch Snaps’, memories that might make you cry with a wide smile on your face.

Organized under the guidance of DORA, Alumni Reunions are one of the most profound events of the year. The alumni are invited back to the campus where they reconnect with their old friends and cherish memories of their time at IITK. They also take part in several fun activities and connect with students.

These are 2-3 day alumni meets held across the world at various places. It includes informal chat sessions, heart-warming scenes of old classmates, seniors and juniors, sharing their journeys, re-living the past and in many cases, plotting the future. These meets include speeches from alumni, games, music, dance, and other sessions organised and managed by volunteering alums. Moreover, these glamorous meets are held in some magnificent locations that add to the splendour of the meet. Who knows, when you pass out and go to such a meet, you may get to meet Narayan Murthy in person!!!

As someone rightly said, “Memories are timeless treasures of the heart!” Some of the best memories one makes are in their college life. Let’s immortalize those memories via the Institute Yearbook! The Institute Yearbook was initiated to preserve and cherish those beautiful memories which you made with your peers! In collaboration with the Presidents’ Office, the Outreach Cell has created the Institute Yearbook exclusively for the passing batch every year.

Ever got bored of cramming stuff for exams and never getting to apply things you have learnt? So relax! Alumni Startup Internship Program provides students with the opportunity to apply their academic expertise in real-life problems. A chance to build upon and flex your skills. Alums provide problems of various industries and you have to apply your knowledge skillfully to decipher them.

One of the most insightful events of the Outreach Cell, Mock-en-Joy is a mock interview series organised in association with the most experienced alumni of IITK. Students struggle with serious confusion and nervousness when it comes to their internship and placement interviews. Mock-en-Joy aims to help you fight back your fear of a head on conversation by providing you a hands-on experience of what the real interview environment looks like. The alumni assigned to each student guides them on various itty-bitty aspects of what makes a good interview impression through a virtual "mock" interview. You can also learn about the personal work journeys of the alumni and expand your career approach. So bid your goodbyes to the interview-phobia and sign up for some real joy with Mock-en Joy.

A good path becomes great under the right guidance. How often do you think that you would have made a better decision for yourself if you had someone to discuss the possibilities of different outcomes with. Every interested student is assigned an alumnus as their mentor who would connect with the student and assist them in any matter they might get fixed on. A bright chance to connect with your seniors and learn from the best.
